Mt Robson, 1979. One the best walks ever for me.

A topless Mt Robson from the Glacier - this was not our destination on this trip but it was grand.

Me on the Ice falls

A view of Mt Resplendent from base camp

The ice falls on the way up to base
Dennis along one of the many cracks
The falls was tame in this part.
Myron and Dennis
Not so tame in spots

Myron at base camp
This was our original goal - the saddle between Mt Resplendent and My Robson. Note the avalanche cracks below the saddle and add white out conditions and the result is an unsuccessful assent.  I think it was the sound of ice
breaking away that made one of us to decide to stop.

Me, Billiam, with Robson in the background.  Ah, to be that thin again.

So what do you do when there is a white out on you destination?
Why, you throw Myron done a crevice.

He tells us it is cold down there....
....so we helped him out.

He had to do most of the work himself.

On the last day, it was beautiful. Rare clearing skies

Silhouettes of Brave Mountaineers

This is the peak of Mt Robson, which is the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies.

Dennis (Left) I worked with during the summer while going to
U of A. Myron was a graduate student that was working on his
thesis; the affect of graupel on helicopter blades. His first view
of actual graupel was on this trip.

The glacier was a good size, crampons required

The pictures came out very well considering they were
originally slides and only changed to pictures 30 years later

The last day just before getting camp
picked up

The com padres had cooked up a scheme for 3D pictures and it
turned out rather well. They took 2 slides of everything, only slightly
from a different perspective.  The end result was magic.
3d view of  complex backgrounds.

It was a good jaunt just to get to the
